Chris Belyavin (Technical) Limited is one of the major suppliers of computer software to the poultry industry. The Flockdata programs were originally launched in 1983 but have been substantially updated since then and are probably the most sophisticated set of computer programs available to poultry farmers around the world.

Packages Available

The Flockdata suite contains five programs. Flockdata Layers is a package for egg producers enabling them to maintain records of physical and financial performance of their flocks and enterprises. Flockdata Growers enables similar information to be produced for growing flocks of pullets, broilers or turkeys. Flockdata Breeders, the flock farmers’ package, maintains both flock and hatchery performance records relating to birds producing hatching eggs. Feed Calculator is a package available for feed manufacturers to plan feed production and deliveries. Factory Planner records placements and forecasts depletion dates for broiler flocks, to enable a processor to schedule arrivals at the processing plant. All of the packages can be used by feed or other companies wishing to offer services to their customers.

Flockdata programs are available as single user or multi user packages for both large and small producers. For bigger companies, an integrated software system can be built up comprising of a number of packages from the Flockdata range as shown in the diagram below.

Current Installations

Flockdata is now in use in some of the largest operations around the world. Systems have been installed in the largest egg producer in Panama, one of the largest in Saudi Arabia, a large chicken integrator in New Zealand, a broiler breeder enterprise in South Africa and a broiler grower in Zambia. Also, one large poultry operation in the UK is making successful use of the Feed Calculator module from the program suite and another very large egg producer has installed a multi user version of Flockdata Layers with links to two egg graders and key staff using handheld modules.

System Requirements

The minimum specification for computers running any of the programs in the Flockdata suite is as follows: PC running 32-bit Windows operating system (Windows 95 or later), Pentium processor running at 100MHz, 16Mb of RAM and 15Mb available disk space. The software is available on CD but where required can be supplied on disk.
